This is a wonderful diorama showing the "Gorch Fock" anchored along a town. Along the stern of the ship is a Tug named "Rudolf Kienau." The hull of the Gorch Fock is red on the bottom with a thin blue line above the red. The rest is white with a single blue line near the top. The name Gorch Fock is painted on the stern of the ship. Several port holes are painted in black along the length of the hull. There is a gold masthead on the bow of the ship. The ship has two large cabins and 3 lifeboats on the deck. The ship has 3 masts with yard arms. The shrouds are black and the remaining rigging is white. The tug has a single mast with a smoke stack with billowing black smoke coming out. It has three decks and two lifeboats on the deck. The name "Rudolf Kienau" painted on the side of the black hull. In the water is a large buoy with a red bottom, white middle and black top. On the buoy are the initials "TC" for the maker, "Theodor Carstensen." The land is full of buildings with 11 different structures including a church, windmill, lighthouse, government buildings, and more. There are 5 trees among the buildings. The bottle is sealed with a cork wrapped in a metal foil wrap. It sits on a homemade stand. Theodor Carstensen is a co-author of the book "Der Perfekte Buddelschiffbauer" and very similar ships to this model are shown in his book.
